English trifle

Zuppa inglese (English trifle) is a traditional Italian dessert renowned for its vibrant layers and creamy flavour. Following Artusi’s recipe, it is prepared with layers of sponge cake or ladyfingers soaked in alchermes and rosolio, layered with custard and fruit jam.
